Foodies at this year's Good Food & Wine show were treated to a spectacular display of talent as our top five sushi chefs pulled out all the stops to win the Ocean Basket Sushi Master title.
Our intrepid mission to train our sushi chefs across the country through a number of workshops where our team shared the skills, innovations, and creations they learnt in Japan initiated a healthy competition between our chefs.
Over 60 sushi chefs from each store competed against each other until five finalists were left standing.
Kana Zheng from Atterbury; Sibusiso Shangase from Hillcrest; Franse Feboloki from Welkom; Welcome Moyo from Fourways; and Collen Sithole from San Ridge made it through to the finals at the Good Food & Wine Show where they vied for the crown in front of a captivated audience.
Winner Kana Zheng took the final honours, with Franse Feboloki coming in a close second, and Collen Sithole taking third place. Their passion for excellence proved irresistible!
